We are a 501(c)(3) Texas Nonprofit dedicated to illuminating the path to empowerment for individuals who are blind and visually impaired in the Rio Grande Valley.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between limitation and opportunity through monthly inclusive educational workshops, essential resources, and unwavering community. Together, we strive to foster growth, social inclusivity and disability awareness as the Blind Community of South Texas.

Hispanics are more likely to experience vision loss due to diabetes compared to non-Hispanic whites, with diabetic retinopathy being a leading cause of vision loss and blindness among Hispanic adults. ​

END THE STIGMA
Blindness in Hispanic communities is often stigmatized due to cultural misconceptions. This stigma limits opportunities and perpetuates discrimination. Combatting it requires raising awareness, self advocacy and bridging the gap. Living with a Disability is a way of life and that's the goal.
